Karneval der Kulturen, Kreuzberg.
This wasn't the multi-cultural experience I'd expected. True, there was more than one culture represented... but only just.
Pretzels, caprihinas, beer, bratwurst were the only food on sale.
Maybe we got there too late

Dum Dum Girls and Monotonix
It's pretty hard not to crush on Dum Dum Girls. Sweet harmonies, fuzzed out guitar, smoking good looks...
It was equally hard to get any decent shots at this show. The room was so full of sweat, steam and smoke when DD girls played that it was almost impossible to focus.
Then, when Monotonix played they decided the stage wasn't for them and set up in the middle of the floor.
I'd been told that the front man of Monotonix usually nudes up at shows but I couldn't be sure.
The throng were so thick that the only time I saw him was when he was crowd surfing (yes, people still do that).

No Kids at Festsaal Kreuzberg
These guys supported Mt Eerie as he tested out his new post-new-wave-British-heavy-metal sound complete with 2 drummers and walls of distortion. A bit of a change from Phil Elverum's usual, navel gazing acoustic fare
There unfortunately wasn't much to photograph of Mt eerie as the lights were very low and I was standing very still with my mouth agape most of the set.
