May Day in Berlin can turn into quite a violent affair
This year was much tamer than 2009 where over 200 people were arrested and over 400 (!) cops were injured* in the rioting


*I'm a pacifist but if you wanted to mess with some cops, the odds of not getting arrested are pretty good

Ever since I leant about French bike builders wrapping their handlebars in cloth, twine and shellac, I've been wanting to try out this classic combo on my own bicycle.
So, when I came across 500m of cotton ribbon for 3 Euro at a flea market the other day, I couldn't afford not to buy it.

I decided to add a cork (Bordeaux & Chablis for the trainspotters) to each of the bar ends to complete the homage.

Today I participated for the first time in the 20th Project.
Brendan Walsh, my old neighbour (Cuthbert and the nightwalkers/Shakin' Howls/Lost Eyes) is currently in Berlin for a month and we decided to write, perform, record and mix a song in one day for Jeff Edwards' sweet lo-fi project.

I'll post the end result in a day or two when I finally figure out how to embed the damn google reader mp3 player.
